Roads

The Port Authority of Huelva enjoys a road network which amply serves its facilities and the Service Zone. It should be highlighted as the main thoroughfare of the city, the route made up of Hispano América Avenue, Francisco Montenegro Avenue (road to Punta del Sebo) and the River Tinto Bridge, which connect the interior quays and the Exterior Port.

Traffic coming from Portugal, Extremadura or Sevilla, comfortably accesses the Service Zone through the A-49 motorway or the CN-431.

Likewise, the local traffic flows smoothly by virtue of a comprehensive and well planned network of roads and roadways.

The table below shows the names and characteristics of different routes under the charge of the Organization:

Train

As a core port of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), the port of Huelva is part of the Mediterranean and Atlantic corridors. Huelva is one of the 11 nodes proposed by the regional government of Andalusia as a member of the Andalusian Logistics Network and it is the second most important node in total traffic volume. It is connected to the rest of the peninsula via two lines:

  • Huelva – Zafra
  • Huelva - Seville

The Port Authority of Huelva administrates a railway network of approximately 32 km, as provided in Law 38/2015 of 29 September 2015 on the railway sector (Spanish acronym: LSF). Much of this network has recently been refurbished with PR-01 monoblock sleepers of Iberian gauge, but with the option for adapting to the standard UIC gauge. The RFAPH is a General Interest Railway Network (Spanish acronym: RFIG) as specified in Section 39 LSF.

The APH (Port Authority of Huelva) is currently working on preparing the declaration of the network and the corresponding document will be published on the website, defining the specifications of the infrastructure, access conditions and the capacity award procedure.
